The workshop on Soft Skill Development was inaugurated by Sj. Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, Hon’ble Minister, Skill Development and Technical Education, Government of Odisha.
While addressing more than 3000 Engineering, Management, Pharmacy budding young technocrats from more than 100 colleges of BPUT have participated, Minister emphasized on quality education, timely examination, good result and placement.
While expressing his happiness in addressing such an event in OEC, Bhubaneswar, he stated that his Ministry and the Government of Odisha is seriously working on streamlining and making the professional education more focused and pertinent. He also advised the student mass to be studious and career oriented so that the State will get better and productive engineers as a need of the day and to reach a new height.
The Government would like to go even for setting up of a Skilled University in the state. Also he emphasized on appropriate marketing strategy for BPUT & affiliated colleges to face the challenges and competition. Finally, he addressed to improve the quality education to promote the technocrats and bring the name and fame of the Biju Babu, a Premier Leader of the nation whose name is associated with the BPUT. In this auspicious occasion Hon’ble Minister inaugurated, a first ever News Letter of BPUT “BPUT Connect” which emphasizes the achievements of the University along with the affiliated colleges of the University.
Prof. M. Altaf Khan, Registrar, BPUT while welcoming the delegates and participants – discussed and presented a brief profile of the University. Prof. S. S. Pattnaik, Vice Chancellor, BPUT has given a glimpses of technical education in Odisha vis-à-vis in India. With the joint efforts of Management, Faculty, Staff, Students and collaboration with renowned technical Universities of the country, the University can be placed in the high rank. He addressed the students to be studious and practical oriented so that they can face and sustained any national and international placement opportunities easily. He expressed his satisfaction on the various Alumni Associations of BPUT who are working for the development of the University.
He viewed that he will help in promoting 4 important Centre of Excellences in the State particularly in BPUT to promote the quality projects by the students which later can be patented and marked in academic fraternity which will bring the name and fame of the state. The Centres are Alimini-Industrial Linkage (AIL); Knowledge Upgradation Centre (KUC); Talent Exploration Centre (TEC) and Entrepreneuring Innovation Centre(EIC).
Mrs. Subhra Patnaik, President, OEC, Bhubaneswar expressed her happiness to select OEC as the venue for this mega event and providing opportunity to host. Prof, Motilal Dash, Director, Placement & Industrial Training, BPUT presented the Vote of Thanks. Prof. Dash mentioned that two eminent personalities – Prof. P.K. Singla and Lt. Col. Gurmeet Sethi of NITTTR, Chandigarh will take the Soft Skill Development technical sessions for these participants.
